The Indian Society of Agronomy is one of the largest Professional Society in the field of Agriculture and Allied Sciences, with life membership of more than 3,000 from India and Abroad. The Society was established in 1955 with the objectives to disseminate knowledge of Agronomy in its widest perspective and to encourage research and education in the scientific and practical aspects of the soil, water, and crop management. Besides, the Society has organized Six International Congress/Conference and 21 National Symposia so far.
The Society in collaboration with Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi and ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Ela, Goa shall be organizing the XXII Biennial National Symposium on “Climate Smart Agronomy for Resilient Production Systems and Livelihood Security”, at ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Ela, Goa from 22–24 November, 2023. Organizers are receiving very encouraging response from all parts of the Country and it is expected that more than 700 Scientists, Policy Makers, Extension Workers, Industrialists, Students and Farmers will participate from all over India. The Theme of the Symposium will be addressed through 9 Sub-Themes as per details given in the First Circular. The theme of the Symposium has been selected from the goal set by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. The success of the Symposium of this magnitude will depend upon the contributions of the people, who have concern for the progress of Indian Agriculture.
